Having once again played to well over a million people in 2018 – topping the million mark in Boston alone after his 18th show at Foxborough’s storied Gillette Stadium – the East Tennessee songwriter/superstar made the decision to take the music to the fans living in markets where stadium shows are not always an option.

    Country star and 2019 ACM Award nominee Jimmie Allen returned to co-host the fourth hour of NBC’s "TODAY with Kathie Lee and Hoda" for a second time yesterday, March 27. Filling in for an on assignment Hoda Kotb, the appearance marks Allen's 6th visit to the show in less than 6 months and makes him the last guest co-host for Kathie Lee Gifford who is leaving the show after 11 years next week.

    650 AM WSM hosted its inaugural Music City Mentors program over the weekend at The Factory in Franklin, Tenn. The event paired entertainment professionals with individuals who dream of a career in the music industry, providing music education and professional development opportunities to aspiring music professionals ages 15 and over. The day featured 45-minute sessions focusing on songwriting, artist management, tour life, publicity and everything in between. SVP Artists Relations and Grand Ole Opry GM, Sally Williams, gave the keynote address. Attendees concluded their day with “speed networking” opportunities from best-in-the-business professionals.

    Last night Triple Tigers recording artist Scotty McCreery celebrated his chart topping single, “This Is It,” in Nashville with friends, family, colleagues and media in attendance at an industry celebration hosted by ASCAP and BMI. "This Is It" is McCreery's second ever No. 1 and second consecutive No. 1 hit off his Seasons Change album. He was joined by fellow song co-writers (and two of the three album co-producers) Frank Rogers and Aaron Eshuis at the event where the North Carolina native received a plaque to signify the song's two weeks at No. 1 as well as RIAA Gold Certification.
