WHISKEY MYERS PERFORM TO 10,000+ AT ICONIC BILLY BOB'S TEXAS

Monday, February 10, 2020 - 1:45pm

Country-rockers Whiskey Myers continued their run of touring success in impressive fashion this weekend, performing to more than 10,000 fans across back-to-back nights at the famed Billy Bob’s Texas honky tonk. Saturday’s show marked their 9th sell-out of 2020, building upon a trend that began last year when they sold 92% of all available headlining show tickets.

With a seated arrangement on Friday, Feb. 7, and a standing room floor on Saturday, Feb. 8, the band Esquire calls “the real damn deal” gave each crowd unique shows which were both marked by Whiskey Myers’ signature brand of hard-rocking music combined with poignant storytelling.

They were also honored ahead of Friday’s show with a plaque commemorating the success of self-produced and independently-released album WHISKEY MYERS, praised by Rolling Stone as proof that “the band can be just as compelling, hard-rocking, and genre-crossing on record as they are on stage.”

The album debuted atop both the Country and Americana/Folk charts with its Sept. 27 release, moving more than 40,000 first-week equivalent album units (of which 39,000 were pure album sales) to also land as the No. 2 Rock album and No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

Scorching track “Gasoline” also holds strong in the Top 20 at Active Rock radio for the third consecutive week, with Sounds Like Nashville declaring that “hard rocking country outlaws Whiskey Myers light the fuse on a can of gospel inflected country metal… Full of explosive attitude and featuring a mean streak a mile wide, the fuzzed out barroom blaster is like an anthem for those days when the bad news keeps piling up.” Watch the music video

About Whiskey Myers
Genre-bending band Whiskey Myers have played nearly 2,500 live shows since their emergence in 2007 and have sold out 95% of their headlining shows over the past two years to ever-increasing crowds. Their self-produced fifth studio album, WHISKEY MYERS, out now on the band’s own Wiggy Thump Records, debuted atop the Country and Americana/Folk sales charts, at No. 2 on the Rock chart and No. 6 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The self-titled project follows their most recent album, Mud, which reached No. 1 on the iTunes country chart with single “Stone” hitting Top 10 all genre. USA Today describes the band led by frontman Cody Cannon as “a riff-heavy blend of Southern rock and gritty country that has earned comparisons to the Allman Brothers Band and Led Zeppelin,” with Rolling Stone noting “it’s the seminal combination of twang and crunchy rock & roll guitars that hits a perfect sweet spot.” The band has also earned sync success with features in Seasons 1 & 2 of Paramount Network’s Kevin Costner hit show “Yellowstone” as well as the Renée Zellweger-led Netflix series “What/If.”
