LOS ANGELES, Calif., - Sebastian Maniscalco, the man New York Times called “the hottest comic in America,” is set to return to late night television this week, this time as host. This Wednesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 16, the comedian, best-selling author and actor will serve as guest host for ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Tune in at 11:35 p.m. EDT / 10:35 p.m. CDT.
With his blockbuster You Bother Me tour postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the comic NBC’s Nightly News to dubbed, “comedy’s new superstar,” is finding new ways to connect with fans and flex his comedic muscles. The “Stay Hungry” author has hosted several virtual dinners with friend and chef, Dominick DiBartolomeo. Billed as “Sebastian’s Sunday Supper” the events have offered the ultimate virtual dinner party, filled with amazing food and packed with special guests including Jerry Seinfeld, Lester Holt, J.J. Watt, Christopher Lloyd and Rick Caruso.
Prior to the livestream event, participants received a package from DiBartolomeo’s company, Domenico’s Fine Foods, filled with a bottle of fine Italian red wine, imported cheeses and all the necessary ingredients for dinner. Guests then joined Maniscalco and DiBartolomeo online as the duo walked them through preparing the meal. A portion of proceeds from the events benefited Good+Foundation and the Comedy Store Benefit.
Despite quarantine the comedian continues to find career firsts. In addition to adding late night host to his growing list of hyphenates, Maniscalco will also add executive producer this month. Sebastian Maniscalco presents Pat McGann: When’s Mom Gonna Be Home? will be released July 28, with accompanying comedy album available July 31. It is the first comedy special for McGann, a long-time opener for Maniscalco, and marks the first-time Maniscalco has served as executive producer.
