Curb recording artist Rodney Atkins takes fans coast to coast in the new music video for Caught Up In The Country,” his current single featuring the Fisk Jubilee Singers and lauded by The Boot for its “upbeat echo [which] makes for a contagious country anthem.”
The video, which also includes Atkins’ wife and musical partner Rose Falcon Atkins as well as the legendary Fisk University vocal group, was filmed across six states and embodies the song’s key message – that people everywhere, no matter where they live or what their daily life looks life, can get “Caught Up In The Country.”
“This song talks about the spirit of being ‘country’ which, to me, really means being outdoors,” explains Country Aircheck’s “most played artist of our decade.” “I always point to that saying about how some people go to church and think about fishing, while others go fishing and think about God. That idea of connecting the sky and the ground is really the core of what getting ‘Caught Up In The Country’ is about – being outside with your family, looking at the stars in the sky, driving down a back road – and we got to capture all of that in this video.”
From the shores of Washington to the salt flats of Utah and the fields of Tennessee, Atkins takes viewers on a cross-country ride which also includes scenes in Idaho, Montana and Oregon. He gathers diverse followers along the way, culminating in a jubilant concert celebration of the song which has amassed more than 40 million on-demand streams and is currently Top 40 and climbing at radio.
As Sounds Like Nashville explains, “the rousing uptempo song… is a relatable celebration of rural life that manages to sound like an intersection of classic Rodney Atkins with a progressive curve. Walking that line between giving fans what they’ve come to expect while exploring new sonic territory is a delicate balance, but Atkins navigates it well.” Taste of Country agrees, praising the “foot-stomping rhythms, programmed drum beats and his distinct vocals” and noting that “The Fisk Jubilee Singers add soul that entices the listener to sing along.”
The official music video premiered yesterday, Nov. 8, exclusively on CMT and is now available everywhere. Watch the “Caught Up In The Country” music video
