Originally released this summer on their recent EP HARD CUTS: Songs from the H A R D L O V E Sessions, award-winning rock group NEEDTOBREATHE decided “WALKING ON WATER” could be better served as an opportunity to help others in this time of need. In collaboration with their label, Atlantic Records, the band that Rolling Stone calls “an anomaly in the pop music landscape” announced that 100% of the proceeds from “WALKING ON WATER” – including single sales, streaming revenue, licensing fees - will be going to Dream Center Network in partnership with OneWorld Health to benefit victims of the recent hurricanes impacting the United States. The band worked quickly with Gus Black – who directed the band’s powerful 2014 video for “Difference Maker” – over a span of just two weeks to create a music video for the track, which premiered today at
“Over the last few weeks, we’ve been reading and watching the stories of heroism coming out of Texas and Florida. The perseverance we’ve seen has been incredibly inspiring,” shares the GRAMMY-nominated rock band, who were moved by the response to this particular song and felt called to action after seeing the devastation from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. “We know there are so many people out there hurting, even more recently in Puerto Rico and California, but we’re incredibly thankful that we can give back in a small way with ‘WALKING ON WATER.’ We want to encourage everyone to lift up their neighbor and love the people around you.”

The South Carolina rock band is well known for their humanitarian work in collaboration with OneWorld Health, dramatically impacting the lives and communities of people in Nicaragua and Uganda by raising over $1 million in funds to build the first NEEDTOBREATHE Medical Center in Tola, Nicaragua with a second location opening early next year in Jinotega. In recent weeks, as disasters have hit closer to home, NEEDTOBREATHE has been looking for ways to make an impact domestically, and are working with OneWorld Health to collaborate with Dream Center Network to raise funds for hurricane relief across the United States.
Dream Center Network is a charitable organization that finds and fills the needs of people in need across the United States. Hope City Church, as part of the Dream Center Network, has been working to provide relief in many of the Greater Houston area neighborhoods who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Additionally, Dream Center Network has supported Next Level Church in Ft. Meyers, Fla., a hub of relief efforts in the hardest hit areas of Southwest Florida.
“WALKING ON WATER” comes from the band’s recent EP release, HARD CUTS: Songs from the H A R D L O V E Sessions, released this summer as a follow up to their smashingly successful album H A R D L O V E which debuted last summer at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Albums, Top Current Albums, Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts and No. 2 on the Billboard 200. HARD CUTS also features “WAITING” and “COUNT ON ME” which both hit No. 1 on the iTunes rock chart upon their combined release in July.
Earlier this week, NEEDTOBREATHE played one of two sold-out shows at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium on their extensive three-leg ALL THE FEELS tour, which features “more songs in more ways” from the dynamic rock band.
