LEVI HUMMON TEASES HEARTFELT NEW MUSIC FEATURING ALISON KRAUSS

Tuesday, January 23, 2018 - 8:15am

As Levi Hummon forges his own inimitable musical path through Nashville, earning a legion of fans and critical praise along the way, he remains deeply rooted and impacted by his work with Thistle Farms, inspiring him to pen his latest single, a touching ballad featuring GRAMMY Award-winning Alison Krauss entitled “Love Heals.” Co-written with his father, Marcus Hummon, and Tom Douglas, the track offers a powerful message of hope and redemption delivered with a simple acoustic riff that highlights Hummon’s pure vocals in harmony with Krauss. Hummon will release “Love Heals” on Iconic Entertainment Records to all digital retail and streaming services this Friday.

Created by his mother, the Rev. Becca Stevens, an Episcopal priest, Thistle Farms is a Nashville-based organization which provides survivors of trafficking, prostitution and addiction opportunities for healing through residential services, jobs and a community of love and support.

“Love Heals” is that and so much more,” says Hummon. “It’s the message my mom preached to me and my brothers, it’s the melody my dad sang to me, it’s the story of the women who came off the streets and in turn helped raise me."

“Love Heals” is a departure from his previous release, the fun-seeking “Stupid” that urges seizing opportunities and embracing risk; and affirms Hummon’s versatility as an artist and prowess as a songwriter. Named one of Rolling Stone Country’s “Ones to Watch,” Hummon has also found success with last year’s “Don’t Waste the Night” landing on Spotify’s Hot CountryWild Countryand New Boots playlists. He is a nimble writer who can easily traverse the span between commercial appeal and artistic integrity, but he is an equally gifted performer with an eagerness that is addictive and an on-stage bravado that belies his age. He has toured with the likes of Kip Moore, Kelsea Ballerini, Cam, Billy Currington, Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes, Sam Hunt, Maddie & Tae, Michael Ray and wrapped 2017 on Eli Young Band’s Fingerprints tour.
