Steve Moakler

Biography

After moving to Nashville from his blue-collar hometown in Western Pennsylvania, Moakler first established his foothold as a songwriter in Music City with cuts by Ashley Monroe, Jake Owen, Ben Rector, and perhaps most notably, Dierks Bentley (“Riser”). The singer-songwriter started to get recognition for his own songs on 2017’s Steel Town, an album that celebrated the hardworking people where he grew up. Now, Moakler has partnered with Mack Trucks for his first taste of music in 2018, “Born Ready,” a track in which Rolling Stone Country said, “the Springsteen-esque anthem” is “dedicated to those who roll up their sleeves and grind the gears,” and “is propelled by chugging guitars, pounding drums and some self-assured vocals from Moakler.” “Born Ready” is the title track and first glimpse of Moakler’s forthcoming 2018 album of the same name. Moakler was called an “in-demand artist” by Taste of Country, and has earned recognition by more than 20 outlets as an “artist to watch,” including CMT, Huffington Post, Nashville Lifestyles, Rolling Stone Country and more. Steel Town, with more than 15 million combined streams, produced fan-favorite “Suitcase” that People Magazine called “romantically honest,” “Love Drunk” that AXS called “intoxicating” and the title track that Rolling Stone Country called a “wistful, mid-tempo acoustic ballad [that] pays tribute to the resilient people of his hometown just south of Pittsburgh: the factories they work in, the bars they unwind in, and the solace they take in their community.” For more information visit stevemoakler.com.
